I was working feverishly in both 2D and 3D formats ealry in 2007.  I
bought a box of fortune cookies and about 15 out of 20 fortunes had the
same fortune on it:  Let your mind set in the groove it should follow.
I thought of the grooves of a record.  Two of these pieces are pretty
literal representations of that, but I wanted more from it.  I let my
hand simply draw a spiral, and I let the spiral become more organic and
get much larger than the records.  I then decided that the slip of
paper that the fortune was on didn't belong in the drawing, but it did
reappear as handwritten text... and boy was *this* important!

Got tired of limiting myself to the record format pretty quickly.  Decided to work intuitively and see where it would take me.

I kinda like this intuitive thing.  It went form the tight record
format to something much more loose and sophisticated.  A peer
suggested that I write my fortunes smaller.  Little did she know that
she created a monster.
